Description
This vintage Paris 1925 poster shows an Art Deco dancer in a flowing red dress lifting a huge bouquet of roses above her head, with a leaping black antelope beside her. Behind her stand pale exhibition pavilions topped with statues, tall flagpoles, a glowing fountain and small silhouetted visitors strolling in the evening light. Bold lettering across the top reads PARIS 1925 and the foot of the design carries the words EXPOSITION DES ARTS DECORATIFS.
The palette of deep navy blue, coral red and warm cream gives the design a striking graphic quality, with fan shaped foliage at the base and stylised flowers that echo the geometry of 1920s French design. Fans of vintage prints, vintage wall art and vintage posters will find plenty to enjoy here, from the Parisian setting to the elegant Art Deco figure work.
A lovely choice for anyone drawn to vintage travel posters, French decorative arts or Art Deco interiors. It suits a living room, hallway, study or gallery wall, and pairs well with other vintage Paris prints and retro travel posters.
