Description
This vintage style propaganda poster shows two soldiers in long olive brown winter coats and dark fur hats with red stars, standing tall against a bright blue sky filled with falling snow. Behind them are snowy mountains and pine trees, while a white snowflake sits at the centre of the composition. Bold red Cyrillic lettering fills the top of the artwork, with the words Soldat v Snegu on a deep red banner along the bottom edge and ribbons repeating Sneg i Veter on either side.
The heroic low angle pose, flat blocks of colour and textured painted finish give this piece the look of mid century Soviet and Communist era propaganda posters. It suits anyone who collects vintage prints, vintage wall art and vintage posters, and works well for a Cold War, military history, winter or Russian language themed gallery wall.
The warm browns and burnt orange against the cool blues make a striking focal point for a study, living room, hallway or office. A strong choice for fans of retro Soviet poster art, winter soldier imagery and vintage military propaganda design.
