Description
This vintage poster shows a close portrait of a United States Marine from the First World War, wearing a rounded steel helmet and gazing upwards with a steady, serious expression. The face is built from bold halftone dots in orange and blue on a warm cream background, giving the image a striking two colour printed look that suits vintage prints and vintage wall art collections.
Across the lower edge a black band carries the words MARINES OF 1918 in tall peach coloured lettering, with a small blue 1918 above it. A line of small capitals beneath reads United States Marines in France during the First World War. The strong typography and graphic style make this a distinctive vintage military poster, ideal for anyone who collects vintage propaganda style imagery or has an interest in American history.
It works well in a study, hallway, man cave or gallery wall, and makes a thoughtful gift for veterans, history lovers and military collectors. The limited colour palette and dramatic composition give it plenty of presence on the wall, whether you favour retro design or classic wartime graphics.
