Description
This vintage Lake Como poster shows a glossy blue and black open-top convertible parked on a stone lakeside terrace, with tall green cypress trees, wooden motorboats and a white sailing boat on the deep blue water. Pastel villas sit along the shoreline beneath green mountains and a snow-capped peak, while a red aeroplane crosses a dark plum sky with a large orange sun. The bold lettering reads Como, Grand Tour, Italia, 1938.
The flat colours, fine line shading and strong geometry give it the look of classic art deco travel posters, making it a good choice for anyone searching for vintage prints, vintage wall art, vintage posters or vintage Italy travel art. The muted sand border and dark navy tones suit living rooms, hallways, studies and home bars, and sit well in a gallery wall with other travel or motoring prints.
It will appeal to fans of Italian lakes, classic cars, retro aviation and 1930s style design. A small outline map of the lake and a round emblem add a charming finishing detail along the bottom of the poster.
