Description
This vintage Japanese cat print features a bold graphic portrait of a woman with a sharp black bob and straight fringe, her yellow-toned face framed by a black cat-ear silhouette. Two large yellow cat eyes with slit pupils sit above her own winged eyes, giving the design a striking, mysterious look. The lettering at the top reads kiiroi neko me, which means yellow cat eyes, set in cream against a vivid red background.
The flat colour palette of red, yellow, black and cream with thin blue outlines and soft yellow circles gives this vintage poster the look of mid-century Japanese screen printing. It suits fans of vintage Japanese posters, retro pop art and quirky cat art, and it makes a confident centrepiece for a gallery wall, living room, studio or bedroom.
As vintage wall art, this black cat poster adds a playful retro Japan feel with strong colour and graphic impact. It pairs well with other vintage prints, Japanese ukiyo-e style pieces and minimalist frames, and it is a thoughtful choice for anyone who loves cats, Japanese design or vintage posters.
