Vintage 1950 Alpinist Alps Climbing Print, Ski Poster

This Vintage 1950 wall art print reproduces a striking mid-century Swiss alpine poster titled Alpinist, originally produced for Sport Woche Juli 1950. The artwork depicts a bold mountaineer abseiling down a rocky cliff face in the Wallis region, skis strapped to his back, with two further climbers visible on a snow ridge above. A radiant sun with a human face glows in the upper corner against a vivid cobalt blue sky, while dramatic snow-capped peaks fill the background. The text reads Wallis 4000m, Alpen Klettern, Juli 1950, placing the scene firmly in the Swiss Alps at altitude.

The flat graphic style, rich primary colours, and bold red script lettering are hallmarks of classic European travel and sport poster design from the 1940s and 1950s. It suits a wide range of interiors, from ski lodge and chalet settings to gallery walls and study rooms.

This is a physical printed poster, produced to order and shipped directly to you. It makes a wonderful addition to any collection of vintage travel prints, alpine art, or retro sports wall decor.
