Description
This vintage York poster shows a sunlit cobbled street in the historic heart of York, lined with warm-toned timber-framed and brick buildings with red tiled roofs. The twin western towers of York Minster rise above the rooftops against a soft blue sky, framed by autumn leaves at the top of the scene. Small figures stroll along the pavement, including a woman in a white dress holding the hand of a child in pink, with an old car parked further down the street.
The soft watercolour style, warm cream border and bold purple ENGLAND lettering give it the look of a classic mid-century British travel poster. A short caption beside the title names York and mentions the Minster and the city centre. It is a lovely choice for anyone who loves vintage prints, vintage wall art and vintage England posters.
This vintage travel poster suits a living room, hallway, study or gallery wall, and works well for anyone with a love of York, Yorkshire and the English countryside and cities. The golden light and gentle colours of ochre, terracotta, sage and sky blue bring a nostalgic, welcoming feel to a home.
