Description
This vintage poppy poster shows bright red poppies with papery, cup-shaped blooms, rounded buds and curved stems in a green two-handled vase. Behind the flowers a calm blue lake stretches towards mountains, with cypress trees and small red-roofed houses along the shore under a soft summer sky.
French text across the upper left reads L'Art de la Botanique, with a line naming poppies in a green vase and a Paris exhibition date of 1988. The painterly brushwork and the warm red, sage green and powder blue palette give it the look of a classic French exhibition poster, a good fit for anyone who loves vintage prints, vintage wall art and vintage posters.
It suits a kitchen, dining room, hallway or living room, and would sit well in a gallery wall with other botanical or landscape pieces. This vintage botanical poster brings a fresh, sunny feel to cottage, farmhouse and French country interiors, and makes a thoughtful gift for flower lovers.
