Description
This vintage Pilsner poster is styled like an old newspaper front page, with a bold black headline reading PILSNER! above columns of small serif text. Across the top it carries the line Plzen, Czech Lager, 1842, giving the whole design the feel of a classic Bohemian brewing advertisement.
The centrepiece is a black and white engraved illustration of a smiling woman in a striped dress, with curled hair and a patterned bracelet, carrying a tray. On the tray sits a tall pilsner glass filled with golden beer and a foamy white head, beside a dark bottle with a printed label. The only splash of colour is the glowing yellow of the beer, which draws the eye against the cream paper tones and the fine crosshatched shading.
If you collect vintage prints, vintage wall art and vintage posters, this vintage beer poster suits a home bar, pub corner, kitchen, man cave or games room. It also works well in a gallery wall of retro advertising, brewery memorabilia and old newspaper style prints, and is a good choice for lager lovers, craft beer fans and anyone who enjoys nostalgic drinks art.
