Description
This vintage railway print shows a smartly dressed man in a flat cap and tweed suit reading a newspaper in a wood panelled railway carriage, while a woman in a pink coat and a flower trimmed hat sits opposite, gazing out of the window. A small table with a white cloth and a vase of red flowers sits between them, and the seats are upholstered in rich red.
Through the window, rolling green hills, clusters of trees, a winding river and a village with a church spire stretch beneath a soft blue sky. The bold red lettering reads Midland Railway across the top, with the lines Scenic Routes, Comfortable Travel and London to the North beside an MR emblem on a dark band at the foot.
Done in a flat, hand painted colour style with warm browns, cream, pink and green, this vintage poster suits anyone who loves vintage prints, vintage wall art and vintage travel posters. It works well as a retro railway poster for a hallway, study, living room or gallery wall, and is a thoughtful choice for train enthusiasts and lovers of classic British rail history.
