Description
This vintage cycling poster features an overhead view of a colourful peloton rounding a sweeping bend on a winding road, with a few lone riders strung out in the distance. The bold red lettering spells LISIEUX across the top, set against a warm mustard yellow background with a cream road and thick black outlines. Riders in red, blue, green, white and polka dot jerseys are packed tightly together, with sketchy motion lines adding a sense of speed.
The lettering and layout give it a classic French cycling race feel, with La Grande Boucle in dark serif type on the left and the route Dinan to Lisieux with the date 7 Juillet 2011 along the bottom. The distressed, creased paper texture and limited palette make this a strong choice for fans of vintage prints, vintage wall art and vintage posters, and for anyone looking for a retro bike race print.
This physical printed poster suits a home office, study, garage, living room or hallway, and works well as a gift for road cyclists, Tour de France fans and lovers of French vintage graphic design.
